ILO to issue studies on child labor in Jordan

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The International Labor Organization (ILO) will hold a workshop in Amman on Monday during which two in-depth studies on the informal child labor in the agricultural and urban sectors in Jordan will be issued.

According to an ILO press release on Saturday, the studies are based on surveys and interviews to discuss the dynamics and characteristics of the children in child labor with the distinction between Syrian and Jordanian children.

"The studies display the possible interventions to address child labor particularly in those sectors and in Jordan in general," the press release added.

The studies are part of the organization's plan to handle the Syrian refugee crisis in Jordan by focusing on the means of development and supporting the refugees as well as the hosting community.

The workshop will be attended by government officials, UN agencies, international organizations and representatives of workers' organizations and employers.
