King, Obama discuss Mideast issues

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, received a telephone call from U.S. President Barack Obama , during which they discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, mainly the Syrian crisis .

During the conversation, which dealt with the repercussions of the Syrian crisis and its impact on the region and the neighboring countries, especially Jordan, His Majesty the King stressed the need to reach a comprehensive political solution to the crisis and end the suffering of the Syrian people.

The two leaders also tackled bilateral relations and prospects for the further cementing the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States.

President Obama hailed King Abdullah II’s role in supporting of efforts aimed at achieving peace in the region as well as Jordan’s role in bearing the humanitarian burdens of the Syrian crisis.etra
