Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - R.B. Sinclair -Published media reports that the Jordanian army had deployed “its 2nd mechanized division along the entire 380 km of the kingdom’s porous border with its Syrian neighbor in battle formation, along with its 60th armored battalion,” were denied, on Wednesday, by Prime Minister, Abdallah Al-Nsour. Responding to a question by a reporter he said the “ Military deployment along our borders are as the usual standard operation.”

Jordan has repeatedly expressed serious concerns over the deteriorating security situation along the country’s northern border. Many fear that a flood of the hardened Islamists fighting in Syria would attempt to cross the border into Jordan.
Wahabi Salafi leaders have already threatened a bombing campaign against Jordan.

Military advances achieved by the Syrian army in the southern front, and the capture of several villages near the town of Deraa added urgency to the growing danger. Jordan’s military has already engaged and destroyed several Syrian rebels’ vehicles trying to enter Jordanian territory illegally,

An Israeli website quoted military sources that the IDF “has manned all the Syrian border positions with conscripts. No reserve units have been deployed.”
