Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Father Rifat Bader Issued the following guidelines relevant to the public who plan to attend the Mass at the Amman International Stadium and the Baptism Site. Huge crowds of people are expected to participate in this historic visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. All those interested in taking part in these events have to get admission tickets which are available at the dioceses and churches in the Kingdom.
Amman International Stadium:
There are two types of tickets:
1. Green ticket holders will be seated at the stadium grounds and around the podium.
2. Yellow ticket holders will be seated at the steps of the amphitheater.
-Ticket holders have to enter and exit the gate/s designated on the ticket.
-Ticket holders can only use buses assigned by their respective dioceses and churches.
-Use of private vehicles is banned.
-Admission to the Stadium will be between 10:00am and 2:00pm.
-All bus drivers and attendants have to strictly abide by the regulations issued by police officers in the area including parking lots at the Sports City and the baptism Site.
Following the conclusion of the Mass and the departure of the Pope, the organizing committee and the security personnel will direct the to exit.
Baptism Site:
The celebration scheduled at the Baptism Site will only include participants numbering 600 people, including the sick, the elderly, refugees and the disabled. A Participants shall arrive at the Baptism Site between 4:00pm-6:00pm. No one will be admitted after 6:00pm.
The celebration will start at 7:00pm with the Pope standing at the bank of the River Jordan and praying silently.
He will then proceed to the Latin Church and meet with the suffering people.
Father Rifat Bader, Spokesperson of the Catholic Church for the visit, stresses that all tickets will be distributed for FREE.
He lauds the assiduous efforts exerted by all preparatory committees, the volunteers, the official committees and the Church.
