Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Egyptians in Jordan started on Thursday voting in presidential polls at the Egyptian Embassy in Amman and the Consulate in Aqaba , sis reported.
Voters will have to choose between Hamdeen Sabahy and former Minister of Defense Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
Egyptian ambassador to Jordan Khalid Tharwat has urged the Egyptian community to take part in the elections that will pick Egypt's president for the next four years.
"This is a good chance to give a boost to Egypt," Tharwat said.
Egypt's consul in Aqaba Mohamed Eliwa, meanwhile, described as 'good' the turnout at polling stations on the first voting day.
"High voter turnout is expected at the weekend days of Saturday and Sunday," Eliwa told MENA.
He added that necessary coordination was held with Jordanian security authorities to bar any attempt to block the voting process.
Voting for Egyptian expatriates will run for four days.
