Jodeh also confirmed that release of the ambassador in exchange for the release and deportation of Mohammad AlDerssi.

AlDerssi was arrested while attempting to plant explosives at Amman's International Airport in 2006

Sources in Libya has confirmed to Ammon that Ambassador AlEitan was release Monday evening and expected to arrive to Amman on Today, May 13th., at Marka Military airport .

The release came after four weeks of intense negotiations with his abductors.

A number of Libyan politicians and diplomats played a major role in his safe release.

According to the Riyadh agreement signed in 1983, the Libyan government has repeatedly requested the extradition of Libyan prisoners held in Jordan.

Few months ago, the extradition agreement was reaffirmed and signed again by Libya's new government.

Jordan held back the handing over of Libyan prisoners due to the "changing" of political circumstances in Libya.
