Jordan, Turkey discuss investment ties

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A Turkish investment delegation on Saturday visited the Development and Free Zones Commission to discuss the available investment opportunities in Jordan.

Chairman of the Commission, Khaled Abu Rabie, said during the meeting the Commission has raised the level of services provided to investors since the beginning of this year in order to attract foreign investments and strengthen the Kingdom's economic capacity.

Regarding Jordanian-Turkish trade and investment relations, Abu Rabie said that the recently-enacted bilateral free trade agreement, as well as the last visit of the Prime Minister to Turkey, have positively affected trade between the two countries, as trade reached $855.2 million, with a $114 million in Turkish investments in Jordan.

He also called on the Turkish businessmen and investors to set up joint ventures in Jordan with companies from the Jordanian development and free zones operating in textile, food and service sectors.
