Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - King Abdullah II on Monday met with President of Iraq's Kurdistan Region, Massoud Barzani, who began an official several-day visit to the Kingdom.
His Majesty stressed strong Jordanian-Iraqi ties in various fields and voiced the Kingdom's support for efforts aimed at enhancing Iraq's security and stability and promoting national reconciliation among all sections of the Iraqi people.
King Abdullah II and Barzani explored means to cement relations between Jordan and the Kurdistan region, especially in economic and tourism spheres, and also discussed the prospects for the Kurdistan region to benefit from Jordanian expertise, particularly in capacity building.
Barzani commended Jordan's supportive stances towards the Iraqi people in different circumstances, stressing his people’s keenness to enhance the level of cooperation with the Kingdom in order to serve the common interests of both sides.
He said that His Majesty the King represents the voice of reason, moderation and peace while addressing the various challenges facing the region, adding: "The King and the Jordanian people have a special place in the hearts of all Iraqis."
