Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, along with his Palestinian counterpart Rami Al Hamdallah, co-chaired on Wednesday the meetings of the Joint Jordanian-Palestinian Higher Committee in the presence of officials from both sides in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
The two prime ministers voiced their keenness to strengthen Jordanian-Palestinian economic and trade ties, increase the scope of cooperation in various fields and remove obstacles facing stronger relations.
At the end of the meetings, the two sides, in the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the two countries' prime ministers, signed 9 memorandums of understanding and executive programs covering cooperation in the fields of industry, protecting national products, agriculture, health, civil defense and meteorology.
Ensour and his Palestinian counterpart also signed minutes of the Joint Jordanian-Palestinian Higher Committee.
In a joint press conference with Al Hamdallah, Ensour said Jordan will always stand beside the Palestinian people, pointing to efforts of His Majesty the King to defend the Palestinians and their issues at all forums.
He also voiced Jordan's support to the Palestinian National Authority to achieve independence and establish a state in line with the UN resolutions.
The prime minister also stressed Jordan's support to talks between Palestinian factions to achieve national reconciliation.
