08-04-2014 07:14 PM

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Emir of Kuwait, HH Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, said Tuesday that his country will always stand by Jordan.

Speaking while receiving a Jordanian Parliamentary delegation, Sheikh Sabah said that Kuwait realizes the fact that Jordan, with its limited resources, cannot shoulder the burden of the Syrian refugees alone. He vowed continued support and urged the international community to stand by Jordan.

The Emir also welcomed Jordanians to visit Kuwait, noting the deep-rooted ties between the two countries at all levels.

Meanwhile, First Deputy Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament and head of the delegation, Ahmad Al Safadi, praised the fraternal bonds between Jordan and Kuwait. He also thanked the Emir for his support and stances towards Jordan.

The lawmaker congratulated Sheikh Sabah over the success of the recent Arab Summit, which was hosted by Kuwait. He also paid tribute to Sheikh Sabah's stances in support of Arab causes.

Further, the MP spoke about the ramifications of the influx of the Syrian refugees for Jordan, highlighting the economic hardships that Jordan is facing as a result of the presence of a large number of refugees.

As part of its official visit to Kuwait, the Parliamentary delegation visited the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry and discussed with its president, Ali Al Ghanim, ways to bolster economic and trade relations between the two Arab nations. The meeting also addressed ways to increase the volume of Kuwaiti investments in Jordan.
