Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Israeli occupation forces on Monday closed the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem and prevented Palestinians under the age of 50 from entering or praying in the holy Mosque.
Palestinian sources told Petra that the Mosque's courtyards were emptied of worshipers and turned into military barracks.
"Dozens of the city's residents performed the Fajr prayer early in the morning on the streets of Jerusalem's Old City near the gates of Al-Aqsa," witnesses said, voicing fear that such procedures will lead to a wide range of settlers' break-ins on the second day of the Jewish "Purim" holiday.
Meanwhile, Israeli extremist settlers, led by radical Rabbi Yehuda Glick, once again stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, barging in via the Al-Magharebah gate.
Clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians stationed at one of the Al-Aqsa gates occurred after Israeli police officers prevented them from entering the Mosque.
