Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The American framework for a peace agreement, has turned out to have secret terms written within. One of these terms disallow Palestinians who have foreign nationalities to make use of the right of return.
The hidden terms have come to light after a Jordanian lawmaker informed a Palestinian news agency about them on Wednesday.
The lack of the right to return will result in many Palestinians living outside of the occupied territories, to be denied coming back to their homes.
These have been added in spite of the UN recognizing these Palestinians as refugees.
This is yet another bump that the negotiations have taken and as the deadline approaches it is hard to see how the talks should be in any way extended.
President Abbas faces political pressure not to bend on issues at the core of the decades-old conflict, such as the fate of Palestinian refugees and future of Jerusalem.
Veterans of Abbas’ own Fateh Party have been sceptical of his decision to restart talks with Israel, which resumed in July after a three-year break. Top officials have mooted a return to protests and even armed violence should they fail.
The Jordanian King Abdullah II is scheduled to meet with U.S President Barack Obama on the 15 of February to discuss the further peace process with the deadline of the 9 months drawing near.
Al-Qatatsha noted that Amman has rejected the possibility of stationing international forces in the Jordan Valley, saying it would isolate the Palestinians from their future state Jordan Times reported.
Setting conditions for a final peace deal, Netanyahu has ruled out a return to what he has termed “indefensible” pre-1967 war lines. He has also demanded a long-term Israeli security presence on the future eastern border of a Palestinian state and has called on Abbas to recognise Israel as a Jewish state.
