Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Newspaper quoted Israeli experts today about their views on the Israeli Memorandum of Jordanian understanding of Palestinian-Israeli meeting that took place yesterday for the implementation of the first phase of the project carrier of Bahrain ( Red - Dead ) .

Experts said , according to the newspaper , "The channel Bahrain , will not save the Dead Sea , but it dries a little delay.”

They warned that passing the water at a distance of 180 kilometers, would lead to the spread of bacteria, and even the creation of small swamps, in addition to the possibility of calcification of the internal tube.

It showed that the Dead Sea loses annually about one billion cubic meters of water, and reduces about 1.1 meters per year. The projected channel will inject 100 million cubic meters per year, although a small and modest amount it is estimated to reduce the Dead Sea decline to about 10 centimeters.

The newspaper, quoting experts and environmental Israeli , stated that to pass the water along this distance, would lead to the spread of bacteria that is not good for the environment , in addition to the possibility of the emergence of the swamps, in addition to the occurrence of calcification within the channel , which affects the quality of water which would be inject into the Dead Sea .

Shalom , and his advisers explained that the channel will be a model in the first stage , and if everything is in accordance with a positive outlook , and did not originate any damage, there will not be an objection to increase pumping more water in the future to the Dead Sea .

It is noteworthy that Jordan , Palestine and Israel signed in Washington yesterday a memorandum of understanding for the implementation of the first phase of the project carrier Red Sea - Dead , which is one of the most vital strategic water projects in the Kingdom.

The Minister of Water and Irrigation Hazem Nasser , said during the signing ceremony of a positive reflection of the project in securing the 100 million cubic meters of water to Jordan at a “ reasonable” cost.

Nasser said , that this amount will cover the needs of the Kingdom during the next ten years as a first stage , followed by the later stages of developments and future needs of the country.
