Ammon News - Free public performances of children’s play based on award-winning American book

Amman - The U.S. Embassy would like to announce the debut of a children’s play, Sarah, Plain and Tall, beginning Monday night, October 21 at the Al-Balad Theater in Amman.

The play, which is open to the public and free of charge, was adapted by the House of Tales and Music in Amman from the original Newbery Award winning teen title Sara, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan, which was translated into Arabic and published through the U.S. Embassy’s Arabic Book Program (ABP). Established in 1986, the ABP brings American writers of multiple genres to Arabic readers through publication and distribution of selected works. Programming also includes outreach activities such as storytelling sessions, literary performances, lectures, book clubs, author visits and seminars. The free performances will take place according to the following schedule:

Amman- Al Balad Theater
October 21 and 22 at 6:30 pm.

October 24 to 25 at 6:30 pm.

Ramtha - MaymonaBintHarith school theatre
October 26 to 27 at 6:30 pm.
