Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) announced a grant to Jordan to help house Syrian refugees in part of the Asian country's assistance to Jordan.

In response to King Abdullah's appeal for international support during his speech at the 67th United Nations General Assembly last month, the Commercial Office of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Amman announced that its government decided to donate 300 caravans allocated to house Syrian refugees in Jordan.

The caravans will be distributed to house Syrian refugees in areas determined by the Jordanian government, an announcement by the Commercial Office said.

The grant, approved in part of special economic arrangements, is complementary to the program of grants provided by the government of Taiwan to the Jordanian people in 2013, which included until now 50 caravans, 5 fully-equipped ambulances, and 230 wheelchairs for persons with disabilities.
