Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - “Lissa Fi Himmeh” initiative organized by the Jordan Volunteers team continues to provide free medical care for different groups of less fortunate persons including the elderly and the financially unstable over a year and a half to this very day, at weekly basis taking place at “ Dar al Osra al Bayda”.
It all started with an act of treatment for an elderly who has been suffering from paralysis in his right side of his body for almost eight years that ended up giving him the chance to move his hands and legs. Since then, Jordan volunteers still seek to spread the idea of free medical care by inviting as much volunteers as possible with different medical fields.
Benefiting from the different specialties, including dentistry, physiotherapy, nutrition and Rehabilitation in hearing and pronunciation, Jordan Volunteers puts its hand with those volunteers into providing a better and healthier life for those in need. This by achieving different accomplishments such as; composing over 40 medical glasses, provision of free wheel chairs, composing several dentures and providing physiotherapy for the elderly , other than organizing a nutrition programs taking into consideration the importance of the elderly diets, in addition to the provision of a free Cardiac catheterization operation for the poor.
Though the main focus is made on providing free medical treatments, the team did not forget the crucial part of providing free medical drugs in cooperation with other medical companies.
Finally, while the team targets the wellbeing of the less fortunate, Jordan Volunteers highly recognizes the importance of the benefits those volunteers will get in return. Other than the advantage of gaining medical experience and training under a senior medical supervisor, those volunteers will gain the fulfillment of the need to be a part of the change we all seek to achieve in our beloved community creating a routine-breaking energizer fueling the volunteers to carry on with their career and personal lives.
The Jordan Volunteers team is a voluntary team operating under the umbrella of "Takaful" institute, which is a non-for-profit organization. Jordan Volunteers aims for the consistency of the voluntary work and community service by providing continues opportunities for volunteers to use their talents, skills and time for a better society.
