Interior minister, Canadian ambassador discuss ties, Syrian crisis

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) – Interior Minister Hussein Majali discussed with Canadian Ambassador to Jordan Bruno Saccomani on Monday ways to forge closer ties between the two countries as well as repercussions of the Syrian crisis at the local and international level.

Majali highlighted the need to develop bilateral political and economic ties in the interest of both sides.

He also praised Canada's support to Jordan in implementing its reform and developmental programs.

The minister also spoke about the pressure exerted on Jordan as a result of hosting a large numbers of Syrian refugees, adding that Jordan was in need of urgent aid to enable it to overcome the impact of the Syrian crisis.

The ambassador stressed his country's keenness to boost relations with Jordan and praised the Kingdom’s political and economic reforms.
