Ammon News - IRBID – Two people died and four others were injured on Saturday in a collision between two vehicles in Beit Ras near the northern city of Irbid.
The Civil Defence Department said in a statement that rescue teams and medics were called in and administered first aid to the injured on the spot before transferring them to a nearby government hospital. The dead bodies were also shifted there, Jordan News Agency Petra reported.
It listed the condition of the injured between serious and fair.
Residents of Beit Ras in Bani Kenanah district on Saturday blockaded the major highway where the accident took place, angered by what they considered government neglect of their demand to take action regarding the "deadly road."
The residents noted that deadly accidents occur on the road every week, and called on municipality officials to take swift action to fix the deteriorated infrastructure of the road.
