The Eid starts with the sighting of the new moon at sunset on the preceding day in accordance with the teachings of Islam. Ammon News - AMMAN Chief Islamic Justice Ahmad Hilayel announced that Thursday, August 8, will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr ,which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Eid starts with the sighting of the new moon at sunset on the preceding day in accordance with the teachings of Islam.

Accordingly, Muslims declare the start, as well as the end, of the fast month on the basis of the sighting.
