Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Dozens of activists from the popular movement in the Red Sea port city of Aqaba in southern Jordan demonstrated on Saturday evening in support of deposed Egyptian president Mohammad Morsi.
Activists, who are close to the Islamist movement in Jordan, demonstrated in front of the Egyptian Consulate in Aqaba, and denounced the Egyptian military's crackdown on pro-Morsi supporters in Egypt, which led to the death of over 75 in the past 24 hours, according to media reports and the Egyptian Ministry of Health.
Demonstrators chanted slogans against Egyptian military leader Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, describing him as the engineer of the "military coup," chanting "Oh Pharaoh of this age, we will not let you burn Egypt," and "Sisi Sisi meaning what, America is stepping on him and Israel loves you why?"
The activists raised placards with pro-Morsi slogans, and performed prayers on the soul of those killed in Egypt since the June 30th mass protests that culminated in deposing president Morsi and the appointment of an interim government by the military.
