A number of lawmakers at the Lower House of Parliament on Tuesday had called for dismantling the investment unit, citing its failure to appropriately invest the Social Security funds, in addition to allegedly disclosed corruption cases in land purchases made by the unit. Ensour responded to the MPs by warning that such a move would be risky to the Social Security funds and investments.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday warned against the implications of scrapping the Social Security Administration's Investment Unit, which handles nearly JD 6 billion of the Social Security's funds.

A number of lawmakers at the Lower House of Parliament on Tuesday had called for dismantling the investment unit, citing its failure to appropriately invest the Social Security funds, in addition to allegedly disclosed corruption cases in land purchases made by the unit.
