Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Several people were arrested this week suspected of being involved in a prostitution and drug handling ring in a number of apartments in Jabal Amman district, in eastern Amman.
The Public Security Department (PSD) Press office announced arresting 8 Arab nationals and 7 domestic workers from east Asian nationalities who have reportedly run away from their residential employees.
The arrested individuals are suspected of running prostitution and drug activities in rented apartments in Jabal Amman, they were questioned and will be referred to the judiciary, PSD said.
PSD noted that after receiving several complaints of "illegal and immoral" activities in the rented apartments in Hay al-Masara in Jabal Amman, a team of Anti-Narcotics cadres was formed to investigate the claims.
Following surveillance and monitoring of the apartments, and taking accounts from neighbors, the apartments were raided and quantities of narcotics and illegal drugs were seized from the apartment.
The 8 Arab nationals, presumed to be workers and building guards, and 7 domestic workers of east Asian nationalities were arrested during the raid, suspected of prostitution and drug handling.
PSD applauded the "positive role" of citizens and neighbors who alerted the authorities of the illegal activities, which led to foiling the ring.
