US Embassy closes on US Independence Day

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The U.S. Embassy will be closed on Thursday, July 4th in observance of U.S. Independence Day. The Embassy will resume normal hours of operation on Sunday, July 7, 2013.

The Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776, declaring U.S. independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Thomas Jefferson composed the original draft of the Declaration of Independence.

Independence Day in the U.S. is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States.
