Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan on Sunday warned Jordanians in Egypt from the ongoing protests and large demonstrations taking place throughout Egypt.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs urged Jordanian nationals, including students, in Egypt to take precautions, avoid demonstration areas, and be vigilant, especially in troubled locations as unrest continues to grip Egyptian cities.
The warning comes as cities across Egypt is witnessing mass protests calling for the resignation of Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi and early presidential elections.
Counter pro-Morsi demonstrations are also taking place throughout Egypt, with authorities voicing concern over potential eruption of violence on the eve of the first anniversary of Morsi taking office.
The recent unrest and confrontations in Egypt left eight dead, including one American.
Several countries issued similar warnings to its citizens, including the United States, which allowed all non-essential employees at the US Embassy in Cairo to leave Egypt.
The Ministry asked citizens to contact the Jordanian Embassy and consulate in Cairo, noting that emergency hotlines welcome citizens' calls 24 hours a day.
