Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) — Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday directed the Ministry of Health to conduct a study on the possibility of offering health insurance to uninsured Jordanians, who constitute around 13 per cent of the population.
During a visit to the ministry, Ensour expressed pride in the country’s health facilities, including 106 hospitals, 31 of which are public hospitals.
The premier also stressed the government’s keenness to support and develop the country’s pharmaceutical sector, whose exports amount to around JD750 million.
During the visit, Health Minister Mujalli Mhailan said the ministry will launch a round-the-clock helpline service for all its directorates’ hospitals to receive citizens’ complaints on health services.
