During the meeting in the Qatari capital Doha, which was attended by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the King wished the new emir good luck and success in leading Qatar and the Qatari people to greater progress and prosperity. Further, the King reiterated Jordan's desire to enhance fraternal and cooperative relations between the two "brotherly" countries and build on what has been achieved, serving the two countries' common interests and boosting the joint Arab action. The two leaders reviewed the latest developments in the region, as well as issues of common interest. The King was accompanied by HRH Prince Ali bin Al Hussein and Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani hosted a luncheon in honor of the King and his entourage. In attendance at the luncheon were members of Qatar's royal family. The King returned home on Wednesday where he was received by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II.

Ammon News - DOHA (Petra) His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday congratulated Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, who has assumed power as Qatar's new emir.

During the meeting in the Qatari capital Doha, which was attended by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the King wished the new emir good luck and success in leading Qatar and the Qatari people to greater progress and prosperity.
