Businessman apprehended over corruption charges

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A Jordanian businessman was arrested and ordered detained for 14 days pending investigation into corruption charges.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Public Prosecutor on Sunday ordered the detention of Ayman Darwish al-Khalili 14-days at Al Juewidah prison pending investigation into allegations of fraud and abuse of power in his position as a board member of the Darwish al-Khalili & Sons Co.

The Public Prosecutor charged Al-Khalili with abuse of power, fraud, and forgery of company documents, citing that abuse of power by Al-Khalili resulted in over JD 600,000 in damages to the company.
