Ammon News - AMMAN - French President, Francois Hollande, is expected to visit Jordan on Sunday to hold talks with king Abdullah on regional issues including the Middle East peace process and Syria crisis, French diplomatic sources said.
The French president will arrive in the kingdom as part of a visit to the region that would take him to Qatar, where he will participate in G11 meetings in Doha.
Talks with king Abdullah will focus on recent American lead efforts to revive peace talks between the Palestinian authority and Israel as well as means to support Jordan in hosting Syrian refugees, said the source.
He is expected to visit al-Zataari refugee camp, north Jordan, to take a first-hand look at the number of Syrian refugees who arrived in the kingdom to escape violence in their home country.
France is among the first countries to provide aid to Jordan to help the poor kingdom host nearly half a million Syrian refugees. The French military is running a field hospital at Zataari camp and provides humanitarian assistance to the growing number of asylum seekers.(ANSAmed).
