Czech Republic to train army officers on chemical weapons protection

13-06-2013 02:27 PM

Ammon News - AMMAN (Jordan Times) — Seven Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) officers will attend a training course on protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons (CBRN), according to a statement released by the Czech embassy.

The June 17-21 training will be held at the NATO Joint CBRN Centre of Excellence in Vyskov, the Czech Republic.

The aim of the course is to train JAF experts, who will subsequently be responsible for training so-called “first responders” to CBRN-related incidents, both from military and civilian agencies, the statement said.

Before their departure, the JAF officers were received by Czech Ambassador to Jordan Ivana Holoubkova, who underlined the ongoing cooperation between her country and Jordan in military and security areas.

The Czech embassy currently serves as the NATO Contact Point Embassy in Jordan.
