Ammon News - RAMALLAH (Petra) –Palestinian officials and civil society groups on Wednesday praised Jordan's decision, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to stand with the Palestinian people in their struggle for liberation from the Israeli occupation and for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on Palestinian national soil, with Jerusalem as its capital.
This announcement came during a visit by members of the Palestine Parliamentary Committee to the cities of Bethlehem and Hebron as part of the activities carried out by the Committee during its official visit to the Palestinian territories.
The parliamentary delegation headed by MP Uteiwei Majali met the governor of Bethlehem Abdul Fattah Hamayel, who highlighted Israeli practices against Palestinians, such as land confiscation, the ongoing construction of the apartheid wall, arrests, the control of Palestinian natural resources, the imposition of a blockade, and attempts to suppress the Palestinian people.
At the same time, he stressed that these various Israeli practices had made Palestinian citizens more insistent and resilient in their fight to obtain their national rights, which are guaranteed by international laws.
Hamayel underlined the depth of historical relations between Jordan and Palestine in many respects.
Majali said Jordan would continue to support the legitimate rights of Palestinians and would do its best to help them regain their national rights.
