Ammon News - TUNIS (Petra)---Jordan is participating in the 10th Arab conference for the heads of media offices in Arab police departments, which started on Wednesday in Tunisia with the participation of representatives from all Arab countries, the Arab League, and Naif Arab University for Security Sciences.
In a statement to Jordan News Agency, Petra, Colonel Khalid Al Nawafleh, head of public relations and society police at the Public Security Department, said the conference would look into the modified version of the Arab media strategy for security awareness and crime prevention, encourage joint Arab action in this area as well as in the field of digital media, and stress the importance of the strategy and the need to implement it effectively.
The conference will also touch upon the role of the media in combating terrorism, drug and fraud crimes, new crimes and in influencing public opinion, Col. Al Nawafleh added.
He noted that the conference would review certain significant experiences witnessed in several Arab countries in using the media to combat terrorism and in using modern technology in the field of security media.
