Int'l Labor Conference tackles impacts of Syrian refugees on Jordan's labor market

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) The Syrian refugees in Jordan and their impact on the Jordanian labor market figured high in the meetings and discussions of the 102nd session of the International Labor Conference currently held in Geneva and chaired by Labor Minister Nidal al-Qatamin.

During a meeting with Director General of the International Labor Organization Guy Ryder, Qatamin discussed a number of issues of concern to labor Jordan in addition to the agenda of the conference.

The two sides agreed on the need to start discussions with the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and donor countries to highlights the urgent support Jordan needs after receiving hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees.

The minister also met with Saudi and Bahraini labor ministers and discussed with bilateral ties and ways of cementing cooperation with their countries in the labor market domain.
