10-06-2013 03:57 PM

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) - Minister of Interior and Minister of Municipal Affairs Hussein Hazza Majali on Monday met with Dominique Hyde, the representative of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Jordan to discuss supporting the Juvenile Police Department in the Kingdom’s Syrian refugees camps.

Majali noted that the department is doing its job to the fullest to protect Syrian children and provide them with their needs, adding that increasing the number of policemen in the camps is necessary due to the increasing number of refugees.

As for the service cards for expatriate Syrians, Majali said that the cards provide personal identification that facilitates the process of movement and residence within the Kingdom and helps refugees and their families complete official and non-official transactions.

He also pointed to the importance of Syrian refugees checking with security centers in all governorates to fill out applications for service cards in order to obtain cards and enable their children's admission into schools, hospitals and health centers.

Hyde stressed the importance of supporting the work of the police department in protecting Syrian children, adding that Jordan needs continuous support while dealing with the Syrian crisis.
