Ammon News - ZARQA (Petra) -Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, accompanied by His Highness Rashid bin El Hassan, President of the Board of Trustees of Jordan Hashemite charity organization for Arab and Muslim relief development and cooperation, on Sunday checked on Mreijib Al Fhoud, one of five camps inaugurated in Jordan to host Syrian refugees.

Ensour was briefed by Brigadier Waddah Al Hmoud, Director of the Department of Syrian Refugees' Camps on the camp, which was funded by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), built in cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces and allocated for families, children and the elderly.

Al Hmoud said the camp, which has started to receive Syrian refugees two months ago, hosts 2900 Syrian refugees now, capable of accommodating 5,000-6,000 refugees and is provided with infrastructure.

He noted that the UAE runs services in the camp while Jordan provides security.

Ensour praised the UAE for funding the camp which comes as the fruit of the brotherly cooperation between Jordan and UAE, which helps Jordan to bear the burdens of hosting Syrian refugees.
