Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met today with members of the "Children of War Foundation" who arrived to Jordan last week and are volunteering their time and expertise to operate on Arab and Jordanian children living with physical deformities or injuries.

The team which includes Arab and foreign surgeons, each of them a leader in their field, have so far operated on more than 40 children, out of 80 cases they have already reviewed, at the King Hussein Medical Center in cooperation with the Jordanian Royal Medical Services.

These cases include hemangiomas, vascular anomalies, children with ambiguous genitalia and more. In addition to providing surgical care to the patients, the doctors will lead a teaching symposium to be attended by physicians throughout Jordan.

This collaboration between the foundation and local Jordanian physicians will greatly benefit the future of surgical medical care in Jordan. One of the "Children of War Foundation" team members is Dr. Andrew Ordon who is world renowned for being one of the presenters of "The Doctors" show, and will be on site at the King Hussein Medical Center to operate and film a new episode for his TV highlighting this partnership. During the meeting, the team members briefed Her Majesty about the foundation's work and services they provide. They also praised the level of medical services at the King Hussein Medical Center and expressed their gratitude to all official and voluntary institutions that facilitated their mission. The Children of War Foundation is a non-profit, non-politically affiliated organization that provides specialized medical care to children living with a physical deformity or injury.
