In response to a question posed by a member of Parliament, Touqan said that all three sites have been considered in the study. Touqan noted that any suggested site has to be 40-50 kilometers away from any populated area as a stipulation to build the reactor, denying that Al Muwaqqar has been considered among the suggested sites. MP Thamer al Fayez - who directed the question about the nuclear reactor to the government - reiterated in statements during the parliamentary session that a nuclear reactor would need large quantities of water, which is not available in Al Muwaqqar.

Ammon News - AMMON - A new study suggesting proposed alternative sites to build a nuclear reactor in Jordan has been concluded, an official said.
