Prime minister reiterates govt support to Royal Scientific Society

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra)-Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour reaffirmed the government's support to the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) to continue its role in providing science, knowledge, technology and scientific and technological consultations for the public and private sectors.
During his visit to the RSS and his meeting with Her Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, President of RSS, Ensour noted the Society's contributions in the fields of research and development, which aim to boost Jordan's ability to face challenges of human and economic development.
He also commended efforts of the RSS staff, adding that the Society is a distinguished example of giving and creativity.
The Prime Minister praised the efforts of HH Princess Sumaya, who sets an example of the successful Jordanian woman, and her leadership abilities, stressing the need to link RSS with other educational institutions to expand joint expertise and experiments.
HH Princess Sumaya noted that RSS has enhanced its capabilities and potentials as a distinguished national resource in the fields of technical services, scientific and technological consultations, applied research and improving the efficiency of human resources.
She pointed out that RSS receives credit for sponsoring a number of emerging academic institutions at its campus, providing discreet scientific consultations to the government and decision makers, taking part in implementing regulatory projects and rehabilitating programs, transferring knowledge, localizing technology, establishing bench standards and specifications and establishing infrastructure for the modern Jordanian state.
Further, Princess Sumaya said that RSS has dedicated its accumulative experience to find practical solutions for development problems in Jordan, reiterating its interest to cement ties with national institutions out of the belief that its message will not be completed without effective and serious networking with these institutions.
