ACC president, Tunisian ambassador discuss economic, trade ties

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) President of Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) Riyad Al Saifi met with Tunisian Ambassador to Jordan Afifah Al Mallah on Saturday to discuss ways to improve economic and trade ties between the two countries.

The meeting also focused on how to ensure the success of the Jordanian-Tunisian Partnership Forum, which will be held at the ACC on Tuesday.

The forum will feature a number of activities, including meetings between Jordanian and Tunisian traders and an exhibition of Tunisian products.

Al Saifi highlighted the strong and historical ties between the two countries, adding that Jordan was keen to increase cooperation with Tunisia – both at the public- and private-sector level – in the political, economic and investment fields.

The ACC president also spoke about Jordan's investment and business climate as well as its new laws that conform to global standards.

He urged the Tunisian side to examine the prospects of investment in the Kingdom and the possibility of establishing partnerships with their Jordanian counterparts.

The Tunisian ambassador praised the strong relations between the two countries and the willingness of their leaderships to further boost bilateral cooperation in various sectors.

Jordan's exports to Tunisia stood at JD 13 million last year, while its imports from the country amounted to JD 9 million.
