2 Air Force pilots killed in training crash near Mafraq

16-05-2013 12:50 PM

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Two Jordanian Air Force pilots were killed on Thursday morning during a training exercise when their aircraft crashed as a result of a technical problem near Mafraq.

A source at the Jordan Armed Forces Headquarters announced that the plane crashed during a routine training exercise west of the King Hussein Air College in Mafraq, northwest of Jordan near the Syrian border, killing Lt. Colonel Pilot Maen Dhaisat and Cadet Nael Khushman.

The British-made aerobatic T-67 Firefly trainer aircraft reportedly developed a technical fault, causing it to crash, the military source said.

The Royal Hashemite Court on Thursday sent its condolences over the death of two Air Force pilots.
