Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has established an Information Center in Amman which will serve as a permanent liaison office.
It provides information for students and academic staff about studying and doing research in Germany - including research funding opportunities in the form of scholarships and other programs, according to a press release issued by the German agency.
"The scholarship portfolio for Jordan includes full PhD scholarships, Master’s scholarships for special programs with relevance for developing countries and funding for summer schools at various German universities," the DAAD said.
Furthermore, the IC Amman collaborates closely with Jordanian universities and supports projects and programs of higher education partner ships between both countries.
The establishment of the IC Amman is also an acknowledgment of the growing strategic importance Jordan in particular and the Middle East in general play for the DAAD.
The official inauguration ceremony of the Information Center Amman will take place tomorrow at the Al-Hashmeyyin Auditorium of the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) in Amman. The selection of the RSS for the inauguration stems from the continuous RSS role to promote science and knowledge exchange between Jordan and a wide range of countries including Germany.
