Government continuously checks on Jordanian detainees abroad

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) - Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Al-Momani has stated that the government continuously and actively checks on Jordanian detainees in Israeli jails and other international prisons in its efforts to improve their welfare.

Momani, who is also Minister of Political Development and Parliamentary Affairs, said the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs always seeks to ensure that Israeli authorities provide the necessary medical care to Jordanian detainees, adding that efforts are being made to facilitate the visits of the detainees' families and the Jordanian embassy staff to prisons abroad.

The minister also noted that the government had communicated with the Israeli authorities regarding the hunger-striking prisoners in order to check up on their conditions and provide them with medical care.
