Student shot at Irbid university during brawl

AMMONNEWS - A brawl erupted between students at Irbid private University in northern Jordan on Tuesday morning that witnessed exchange of gunfire between clashing students.

One student received a gunshot wound in his thigh and was rushed to a local hospital, eye-witnesses told Ammon News.

Bystander students said that the shooter, reportedly a student at the university, escaped from campus following the shooting in the northern governorate of Irbid.

Clashes between the conflicting students continued in the afternoon, with students vandalizing university facilities, smashing windows of buildings and vehicles belonging to university staff and students.

Ammon News attempted to contact the university administration, but the operator did not respond.
