Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center managed by Hilton, (“KHBTCC”), is extending its sustainability program by incorporating a recycling programme to its existing procedures. For this purpose KHBTCC signed an agreement with BE Environmental Services (“BE”), who is a local provider for waste management with an emphasis on recycling.
The agreement includes the installation of containers to segregate paper, cardboard, metal, plastic and wooden waste from the general waste stream that occur during the convention center’s daily operations. In addition, BE will train and monitor the Convention Centers staff in separating recyclables from waste. Once an effective routine is established across all departments, the company will present KHBTCC with official up-to-date recognition certificates.
During the signing ceremony, Naif Zureikat, general manager, King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre managed by Hilton, said: “We are committed to do our part in environmental friendly waste management here in Jordan. The new procedures will have a beneficial impact in the conservation of natural resources and will significantly reduce waste going to the landfill.”
Thomas Stocker, general manager, BE Environmental Services added: “Our partnership with an outstanding venue such as the KHBTCC will help promote the practice of responsible waste management in Jordan. We are therefore excited to serve this particular venue.”
