70 Salafi Prisoners in Jordan: Abu Sayyaf

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A total of 70 members of the Salafi Jihadi movement in Jordan are being held in prisons across the country, including 14 members who were arrested recently while attempting to infiltrate into Syria, a leader of the Salafi Jihadi movement said.

Mahmoud SHalabi, also known as 'Abu Sayyaf' confirmed on Monday that 70 members of the movement are currently being held in Jordanian prisons.

Abu Sayyaf told Amon News that a number of the salafi detainees renewed their hunger strike after receiving promises from prison authorities to improve their conditions.

Abu Sayyaf has recently visited the prisons where the salafis are being held and received promises from authorities to improve the living situation of Salafi prisoners.
