Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordanian Teachers' Association (JTA) announced on Tuesday halting the general strike it went into on Sunday and Monday in protest of the government's recent economic policies.
JTA President Mustafa Rawashdeh announced halting the strike during a JTA board session Monday afternoon.
Hundreds of teachers throughout the kingdom had went on a general strike on Sunday and Monday, in protest of the government's recent decision to lift subsidies on oil derivatives, which caused a substantial hike in prices.
JTA said that 65 percent of the kingdom's schools participated in the strike on Monday.
