Ammon News - This year’s Alta Moda Rome fashion week, which ended Friday, featured the works of two established Lebanese designers, Tony Ward and Abed Mahfouz.

Tony Ward’s fall/winter 2012-13 collection, entitled “Nuance,” featured six suits, as well as short and long cocktail dresses.

The designer made use of a variety of cuts: Some designs emphasized vertical lines while others incorporated circular or horizontal shapes.

This mix of modern cuts, from the expected to the exceptional, highlighted femininity and accentuated the wearer’s beauty in full.

Using concepts borrowed from architecture, Ward’s collection featured sleek designs with structured, geometric accents.

It featured elegant gowns, finished with intricate details and stitching. Palettes ranged from rich shades to pastel colors, drawing inspiration from a fairytale array of dusky pinks and sparkling grays with transparent accents throughout.

Mahfouz’s use of delicate fabrics, such as lace, muslin and tulle net skirts, emphasized elegance and femininity.

Dresses were nipped at the waist with velvet sashes and belts that were in the same color as the gowns themselves.

This narrow waist was balanced with a wider shape at the shoulder and either a flowing shape at the skirt or a fishtail style, highlighting a woman’s natural hourglass shape.

The ivory bridal collection also featured intricate stitching and detailing, with crystal and beading embellishment, resulting in magical gowns fit for any bride.
