Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh said the government is giving full attention to the issue of Arab Potash Company's (APC) strike which started last month.
The prime minister was replying to comments made by MP Mahmoud Nueimat during the Lower House of Parliament's session today, in which called for an immediate interference by the government to put an end to the APC's workers problem and terminate services of board chairman and members.
Tarawneh said the government was following up on this issue on a daily basis, as it is a major issue that should be resolved in a way that would satisfy all parties involved.
Labour Minister Atef Odeibat said the government had given utmost attention to the workers' strike, adding that the cabinet formed a committee comprising the ministers of finance and industry and trade to address this issue.
The ministerial committee held a series of meetings will all concerned parties and reached an agreement on all issues except for the workers demand on the end of service compensation.
"The end of service compensation costs the APC JD75 million and despite that negotiations are currently underway to arrive at a solution that satisfies all parties involved, Odeibat added.
