AMMONNEWS - 160 Algerian nationals are stranded in Amman after performing 'Umrah' the lesser pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia and stopping in Jordan en route back to Algeria.
The pilgrims noted that the Egyptian Airlines refused to return them back to Algeria for lack of available reservations until September 18th, despite having traveled via the airlines to perform the Umrah with confirmed reservations.
The pilgrims, including women, children, and elderly, are staying in a mosque near Qasr Al Mashta in Qastal region in southern Amman, and are being provided with food and necessities by workers are nearby factories.
One of the pilgrims blasted the Algerian Embassy in Amman for not taking concern for their conditions since they first arrived in the Kingdom following Eid ul-Fitr earlier in the month.
Ammon News was not able to get a response from Egypt Air regarding the pilgrim's travel, and despite promises of issuing a response to Ammon News, the Algerian Embassy has yet to respond.
