AMMONNEWS - Jordanian authorities on Friday lifted a travel ban on that was imposed on the parents of Jordanian bomber in the late 2009 Khost suicide attack in Afghanistan.
Khalil and Shenara Al Balawi, the parents of alleged Jordanian double agent Humam Al Balawi, were banned from traveling outside the country, but the ban was lifted by security authorities late this weekend, a week after their son Ammar, Humam's brother, threatened to disclose sensitive information about his brother's 2009 operation in Afghanistan which killed 7 CIA agents and his Jordanian intelligence handler.
Ammar Al Balawi told Ammon News that he confirmed the lifting of the ban after visiting the Borders and Residency Directorate in Amman.
He added that the family still awaits Jordanian authorities' release of his brother, Ayman Al Balawi, who remains in custody for over two months on charges of affiliation with the Salafi Jihadist movement after the Zarqa violent events.
He stressed that his brother did not take part in the protests in Zarqa back in April 2011, which turned bloody when security and gendarmerie forces clashed with protestors.
"Everyone, including the State Security Court public prosecutor, know that Ayman did not leave his house on Amman that day," Ammar said in stressing that his brother had not taken part in any other demonstrations.
He called on Jordanian authorities to release his brother, Dr. Ayman Al Balawi, blasting that the charges against him are unwarranted , and against the law.
Ayman was arrested on April 15th, 2011.
Seven U.S. CIA agents, and Humam Al Balawi’s Jordanian intelligence handler, were killed in the attack on Forward Operating Base Chapman, a major CIA base in Khost, Afghanistan on December 30th, 2009.
Lifting the travel ban came more than a week after Ammar Al Balawi warned that if Jordanian authorities do not release his brother and stop their harassment of the family, he would disclose "sensitive" information related to his brother Humam and the mission in Khost, through media outlets.
