Ammon News - The Jordanian Armed Forces thwarted two smuggling and infiltration attempts on Wednesday evening along its western and northern borders, as part of its ongoing efforts to protect the Kingdom's borders and maintain its security and stability.

The Southern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics using a drone on its western border.

The rules of engagement were applied, and the drone was detected by border guards, resulting in its downing within Jordanian territory. The seized narcotics were then handed over to the relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, the Northern Military Zone thwarted an infiltration attempt by an individual who tried to cross the border illegally from Syrian territory into Jordanian territory. The individual was detected by border guards, who applied the rules of engagement, apprehended him, and subsequently handed over to the relevant authorities.

The Jordanian Armed Forces affirm their commitment to utilizing all available resources and capabilities to resolutely confront all infiltration and smuggling attempts, in order to safeguard the security of the nation and the safety of its citizens.
